I think it's not so much popular in Japan. Actually, I have never tried to make maki sushi by myself in Japan. Anyway, making maki sushi is so fun!
First of all, you should prepare some ingredients.
1 rice
2 vinegar ( rice vinegar is much better if it is possible)
3 seaweed
4 filling ( for example, avocado, salmon, cucumber or crab)
5 soy sauce
Let's begin!
First, gently mix with rice and vinegar. Fan rice (if you want). Then repeat the process!
Next, setting the seaweed on the sushi mat. At this time, the shiny side is down. You must be careful! Gathering 1 cup of rice and then cover the seaweed evenly. The important thing is you should save 1 inch margin. Then, put the arrange fillings evenly. Don't use too much filling! Lift edge up and over filling. Tuck the mat tightly and roll to secure. Finally, slice the sushi!
How to make maki sushi is very easy and fun!!! Filling is you can choose whatever you like. My favorite flavor is avocado and salmon!
